Introducing the Ci 6.0 Counselors

In just a few short months, Ci 6.0 kicks off as we welcome our first group of campers. We’re excited to meet our 2019 campers and thought we’d start the introductions now by letting you get to know our Ci 6.0 counselors.

  • Nathan Dwire

I am a Freshman Zoo and Wildlife Biology major at Bob Jones University. I am very excited about the opportunity to serve at such a unique camp this summer. I can’t wait to help my campers learn more about STEM and about their Creator. This camp’s position of teaching STEM from a Christian worldview provides a great opportunity to learn how to live in a world that often sees science and religion as unreconcilable. I look forward to the role I get to play in teaching future Christian STEM leaders!

During the summer before my Sophomore year of high school, the Lord began burdening my heart for creation ministry. I am thankful for His guidance to Camp Infinity. I completely support the mission of Ci and love the way they teach a biblical worldview alongside STEM. The campers who attend Ci are the next generations of STEM leaders and will serve as missionaries in our culture. I have such a passion to reach these children and teens with the truth and to help them be confident in their faith despite the convincing lies they are taught in school. I am so excited to work with each of you and to reach out to the campers that the Lord brings.

  • Alan Pillow

I am excited to experience Camp Infinity for the first time as a counselor! Being part of this team is a huge blessing. My dad raised me with a love for biblical logic and creation science. When I began truly seeking the Lord two years ago, I began to feel burdened for the generation that is being taught to compromise biblical authority by their teachers and peers. Needless to say, I was thrilled to find out about a camp that teaches STEM to students through a biblical lens, and I'm even more thrilled to play a part in this ministry! I pray that God is raising up a generation that loves STEM and loves Jesus, as we were created to do.

  • Steven Platt

Hello, all! I am a Sophomore Computer Engineering major at Bob Jones University. I am greatly looking forward to learning more about God through His creation this summer with the campers! Throughout my teenage years, God gave me a passion for solving problems using the fields of math and technology. Counseling at Camp Infinity provides an amazing opportunity for me to share my love for the fields of STEM through the lens of Scripture! I love working with young people, and I am excited to help campers explore science and strengthen their relationship with God. I am praying that God will use this summer to draw us closer to Him as we explore His creation.

Camp Infinity has now been a part of my life for almost five years. As a high school student, the camp ministered to me both intellectually and biblically and allowed for connections with other like-minded young men and women. My time at camp strengthened my faith in God and pointed me in the direction I currently pursue. I am currently studying Electrical Engineering at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. It is this impact that the camp made on me that I wanted to return to the next generation. In 2017, God blessed me by allowing me to return to Camp Infinity as a counselor. I have many wonderful memories both of campers and what God taught. That year also provided me with the opportunity to write for the camp's growing website. I have since returned as a counselor in 2018 and will now be serving for my third year this coming summer. God has used Camp Infinity mightily in my own life and in the lives of others. I am humbled that I have been given the opportunity to give a little of that back. It is with this in mind that I march toward the summer and pray fervently for God to work in the hearts of my future campers.

  • Isaac Slayton

Hello there! I am a bit of the odd ball out as I am a Junior Biblical Counseling major at Bob Jones University. Despite not being a computer science major, I have years of practical experience in the IT Department at BJU and I have mentored at several STEM and Robotics Summer Camps over the years. While this will be my first year serving at Camp Infinity, I have been familiar with it since I was in high school. It has been neat to see how God has guided me to this service opportunity. I look forward to impacting many people this summer in regards to both technology and the Gospel.

  • Brooklyn Summerlin

I have been blessed to be a part of Camp Infinity's mission since its humble beginning. Attending Ci played a huge part in my decision to pursue a Middle School Science Education degree at Bob Jones University. I was able to attend Ci's very first Counselor in Training program which opened my eyes to the incredible need for a biblical impact on youth in the science field. I am excited to be able to make this impact through Camp Infinity.

  • Ana Moran (counselor and photography)

I've always loved the science field ever since I was young. I always thought that I would be a dentist. My plans have changed since then, as currently I am a Health Science Major with a minor in Computer Science. Over the past few years I've discovered a new passion through different opportunities the Lord has given me. I love teaching and helping with children. I knew God wanted me to use this summer to serve in some capacity, although I didn't know where. By his providence, I learned about Camp Infinity. What better place to use the desires and skills God has granted me! I'm so excited to meet every one of the campers and be able to share my passion for science with them!

  • Justin Sutherland (technology specialist)

I am a Junior IT major at Bob Jones University. I have a passion for technology and for using technology to solve problems. I first started working with Camp Infinity last year with some of their robotics workshops and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the highlight of my whole year! The Lord has since led me to intern at Camp Infinity this summer. Camp Infinity gives me an awesome opportunity to not only share my passion for technology with others, but also use it to point others to Christ!
